Hello there, I have a 5month old that is trying to crawl early. She gets upset whenever we try to pick her up. Are there any baby knee pads or anything I can put on her knees for cushion? I have hardwood floors.

I had the exact same problem with the hard wood floors. I went to a sports equipment store and bought a couple of yoga workout mats ( a couple to cover enough space on the floor).

That way she could crawl all over the mats. Pretty soon thou when she really has the hang of crawling she will not stay on the mat's. But don't worry......we think that it hurts their little knees but nature has made their bodies for everything they will endure while in the learning process. Their little knees are very well protected by the fatty tissue that is over the bone as well as a large amount of cartilage. You can find all different kinds of mat's for different purposes from yoga to gymnastic mats all have the same purpose "to protect the body" their soft and smooth and very giving, not to mention easy to clean. Hope this helps you! :)

You can buy leg warmers which are from birth to 8 years old - "baby legs" or "huggalugs" if you google - and they protect knees a little bit, although they might wear through like socks. Mine has skipped crawling totally and gone straight to walking really early and I'm worried she'll damage her ankles and knees from walking before her bones are ready, but you just cant stop them when they scream and scream at you, I know.

I wouldn't worry about her crawling. My son crawled but it didn't seem to long before he was cruising along the furniture. He was handling stairs by 11 months. When her knees get tired, she will do something else.

My daughter does the same thing she is five months. We just let her go to it. I would maybe try a large blanket, it would at least soften the floor a bit.
