Any Foster Parents who also have their own biological children?

Me and my husband are thinking about being foster parents. We have a 8 month old daughter and absolutely love being a parents and just love feeling rewarded each and every day. We could have another child of our own but would like to instead care for achild who is already here who really needs us! We need advice and information if anyone has any. Can you choose the age group you would like. I would not like an older child because it worries me with my young daughter. Anything would be helpful.

My husband and I have looked into it. There is usually a larger need for older children, but you can say that you will only take kids up to a certain age. I agree that I wouldn't want any older children with a baby that young in the house. One of my friends and her husband foster children ages 2-6. We have decided that we are going to wait awhile, maybe once all of mine are older I am too busy right now :)

My family has always taken in foster children. Usually older children from ages 13-17. Some of the kids were scary, I'll admit. When I was 9 years old my foster brother beat the crap out of me while I was asleep. The next foster child we took in put bleach in my moms contact solution, almost blinding her. Another foster child smeared poop on our walls. There are some crazy kids out there. We had one though, a girl who was 13 that was a perfect angel. She was the most awesome girl I have ever met. So they're not all bad eggs, but I would just be careful with who you invite into your home.
