Here is my history with the shit, I had a miscarriage on Jan 2nd that almost took my life as well. We have a little girlthat turns 3 in AApril. I was given shot #1 before leaving the hospital as it is too dangerous to get pregnant too soon due to the way I miscarried. I hot shot #2 in April & #3 in July. I have skipped #4 which was due in October. Since then my body has been nuts. I have taken several tests because I swear I feel pregnant buy I'm not. I think it could be withdraw symptoms from the shot but not sure. Anyone else experience this?

I was on the depot for 2 years with no problems. I stopped taking it because my mother informed me that it seriously depletes your calcium. And like you my body went CRAZY. I would bleed constantly! The good news is time heals all :/ I'm not on anything now but i hear awesome stuff about the IUD

to anyone on the depo shot. i had a partial hysterectomy 2 yrs ago do to really bad periods since the age of 10 everything was wonderful i got my life back because my periods took over my life. well last December i got horrible pelvic pain and come to find out i now have endometriosis so i am on my 2nd round of the depo shot it really helped with the endo pain but i now have chronic sinus problems, heartburn, headaches, trouble sleeping, tired all the time, hot flashes, breast tenderness leg pain off and on and mild mood swings what bothers me the most is the chronic sinus problems none of these symptoms started until i got on the depo shot im do for another shot mid july and im not going to take it any more. has anyone had problems like mine?

I use the copper IUD for just such a reason. I don't like the fake hormones. The copper has none and I got pregnant the day (!!!) I took it out. We did natural family planning and failed on #2. Had the IUD until we were ready for #3. It worked like a charm.

Depo shot was horrible for me. I would never ever recommend it to anyone, but in your case it seems it was unavoidable and understandable. Sorry you had to go through that. I went on the depo shot to control extremely debilitating painful ovulation and cysts. But I did not know that it would make me bleed on and off continuously without rhyme or reason for about six months even though I only had three shots. 8 had horrible mood swings and pains as well. I just don't think the hormones are healthy for women. I also should mention that I cant be on any estrogen based pills or anything because I almost had a stroke two years ago. I am a very healthy person without smoking or weight issues. So, Im now pregnant with my third child because we tried the natural family planning to keep artificial hormones out of the picture...oops. Lol. I don't know what the right answer is as far as bc goes...but for me spermicides and barrier methods seem much less harmful for womens bodies in my opinion. God has it all under control.

The depo shot for me was great. I was on it for a bit shy of 4 years worked amazingly I had no period i never gained weight and never had any real issues.... But much like you coming off the shot I felt pregnant for like a year afterwards I didn't get my period back for almost two years which was terrible bc it made it harder for me and the hubby to have our other child. It takes time to work itself out of your body and your hormones to readjust everyone is different. If your still worried about it call you obgyn make and appointment to make sure everything is ok thats actually what i ended up doing.
