Hi Moms!
Did you know that your cosmetics, bath and body, cleaning and baby products contain dangerous toxins and chemicals that are extremely harmful and even deadly? Read the below report and then let me know what you think.

Jennifer you are so right! It is our responsibility as parents to protect our children from anything that could harm them! There are some things we don't have control over but I'm glad I have control over this issue. THANK YOU soooo much for that link!!

I've done the research. 20-25 years ago we didn't have so many (if any) kids running around on ritalin. 10 years ago NO ONE heard of fibromyalgia. The incidence of childhood cancer has increased 400% in 20 years, same with diabetes! Cancer is the #1 killer in children. Think about it! Scientist are linking today's health issues (that we didn't have so much of 20 years ago) to illnesses like these as well as asthma, eczema, ADHD and others to the chemicals and toxins that are in your household products. Why do you think "going green" is so popular. Do the research people! Don't put up with this!!

I personally think it's an excuse, and a cop out to accept that "everything is poison in one way or another" or "I think we worry way too much about things like this". We have choices moms! We need to know what we are exposing our children to! We say we would die for our kids or do anything for them???? 'Cmon, when you have facts and information like this and you make excuses NOT to do anything about it, you're basically killing or making your own kids sick.

OK, I have to admit, the article was kinda long. But... Aren't our kids worth the effort? It was pretty easy for me to just scan through and see if any of those products were in my home, and, they are :( It's really sad that as a society we are content to just be "sheep" and just go with the status quo. It's a sad fact that most people are too lazy to do their own research and would rather just blame others when some thing goes wrong. That is why our legal system is so messed up. While I agree that there are lots of contributing factors that affect our health, it is our duty as consumers to make sure that we are doing our part to ensure our own safety and the safety of our children. Do we really think that the guys at johnson and johnson or at huggies really care about our kids as much as we do? NO! What is their driving force behind manufacturing products? MONEY!!! Jennifer, I really appreciate this information. Like you, no one ever told me that some of my common every day house hold products could kill my kids. I never thought to question it like so many other moms out there. Now that you've told me this, what can I do about it???
Thanks

Wow! Scary to think that we as moms do not want to educate ourselves about things that can and do harm our children! I am an X-ray Technologist of 12 yrs and I have had to deal with parents freaking out because they didn't want their child to get an x-ray for medical purposes to treat an injury or illness. I had to explain the dose of radiation their child was receiving was minimal and the benefits far out way the negative! We are exposed to all kinds of things on a daily basis, controlled or non controlled, ei: background radiation, chemicals, pollution, etc..... If we as moms can help our children and our selves with some part of what they and we are exposed too than we have done our job as parents! Since WWII , there have been a dramatic increase in the number of man-made chemicals that we use in our homes. There has also, since that time been an equally dramatic increase in the incidence of certain chronic health problems, especially in children. ADD, ADHD, Autism, Asthma, Infertility, Cancer, Allergies, were once rare and now it is so prevalent that it is second nature to know someone with one of these diseases. Yes there are lots of contributing factors, and increased chemicals and toxins plays a huge role in it! You wouldn't keep a loaded gun under your bathroom or kitchen sink??? Or maybe you would...... More children die of accidental poisoning in the home then are accidentally killed with guns at home. Do your own research, google Quaternium 15 and see what you find, if you think the link above is inaccurate. Check out the Consumer Product Safety Commission and the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health. Did you know your child could die from ingesting a small amount of hair conditioner?! Not that we would purposely let our child drink conditioner, but I didn't know that! Figured it may make them sick but not kill them. The labeling laws are there to protect the manufacturer not the consumer. So you can either do something about it or not, but I choose to do something about it!

Oh and Yes ANYTHING in EXCESS is bad for you, that was the point, being overexposed to chemicals in your home day in and day out is what is harming our children!

Everything is poison in one way or another. You can die from having too much oxygen. We need to stop picking every little thing we do apart! If we stop dissecting every possible way we could possibly screw up our kids, we would actually have the time and patience to raise our children like normal people!

honestly, i think we worry way too much about things like this. people have been using these products for years on there children. the site doesn't even say how many children have gotten sick or died. hope i don't sound mean or anything...just my opinion.
