At home Day Care

Hello. My daughter just turned one and I have had some bad experience with her day care. So bad that I have decided to quit my job. So I have been looking into starting my own in home day care, besides I love kids so why not. With that being said do any other of you mommies run a day care from home. If so do you have any advice, pros & cons? Thanks.

Hi, I have been a stay at home mom for over a year now. I started a In Home Childcare and I have really enjoyed being at home with my daughter and keeping other children. I have ran into a few problems with parents when it comes to the rate that I charge them. I would first recommend that you figure out what you want to charge and stick to that no matter what. Also I make each of my parents sign a policy handbook with what I expect from the parents and what they will expect for me. I also provide 2 meals and snacks for the kids I keep and that is included in my rates. For children still in diapers, or on formula I make the parents provide those as well. I hope that this helps and that it goes well for you. Good luck
