Wow time flies. My son is now 14months and is still tip toeing around. He's been acting like he's wanted to walk for months but just hasnt built up enough courage to take off! Anybody else experience this??(p.s he already has a walker and i try to make him walk everywhere)

All babies go in their own time. My two boys started walking at 12mo. My daughter was 15mo, before she took her first steps. She was the same way as your son. She walked all around the furniture and behind her walker for what seemed like months! I have heard of 18mo olds not walking, so I wouldn't worry about anything, as long as his doc says everything is fine.

Every child is as different as the next in the early milestones..
my first walked before she was a yr old, second walked about a month after his 1st birthday, 3rd by his first and 4th and last began to walk at about 13 months as well..

Each baby is different. I wouldn't worry about it unless your pedi is worried.
I have triplets. One started walking at 12 months. The others started at 13 months.

My son was the same way. I thought he was going to start walking by his 1st birthday, but he didn't. He was a little over 14 months when he finally did. Every child is different. He'll start when he's ready. You're going to be running around all over the place once he starts. LOL!

Hope this helps a bit.

My son is now 30 months and he started at 14 months to walk. Before that he was tiptoeing taking 2 or 3 steps here and there but refusing to do anything until 14 months old when one day he just started walking and hasn't stopped. He is now all over the place and my daughter who is only 8 months old is starting to walk while holding on to furniture, so every child does and learns at their own pace.

Mine's the same way. He's 13 months and still hasn't taken a step without holding on to something. I thought he was going to start walking when he was about 10 months old because he was standing and cruising, but he has no interest in walking.

My son was 16 months. One day he was holding on to his toy car to help him walk and the next thing I know he's running around. Be patient, it will happen. And then you'll be begging him to slow down!!

Both of my boys were late walkers. The first walked at 14 months and the second not until 18 months! I've heard that as long as they walk by 18 months you don't have to worry, if it takes any longer you should talk to your doctor.

My LO started walking with help at 6 months and without at 9 months. Every child is different. My cousin's daughter is just a couple months younger than mine and she's still not walking at all at 15 months. Let your baby do it at their own pace, don't push and most of all don't worry, your LO will be running before you know it!!

i wouldnt really worry about it since he's tip toeing around like you had said. he's showing intrest at least, so he'll do it. they say the average age for walking is anywhere from 10-15 months. so he's actually not even late yet. he'll probably have really good balance by the time he does take off and be a really good walker. i couldnt wait for my son to start walking and i havent got a rest since, lol.
