Baby keeps gagging when I feed her cereal. She never used to

Hello,
So I'm pretty sure my 7 month old daughter is gagging due to her first cold. However, she's much better. Frankly, I thought she was all better. She does have a little bit of lung wheeze (which we've been to the doctor already and it's just the last remaining bits of the cold). Her fever is gone. She's all bright and cheery, back to her normal self. When I try to feed her though she just gags, and gags. It's the most horrible thing to watch. She used to gag just a teeny bit when she was first eating solid foods but it went away. Now she just refuses to eat anything and just gags when I put the spoon near her mouth. She is still breastfeeding. So she is getting some nutrients. However, she's not sleeping through the night anymore. She wakes up hungry, of course.
Has this happened to anyone else?
I can't wait for her to be back to 100%, eating solids and sleeping through the night again. Ugh.

Thin it out a little bit and see how that works, or maybe try the 1st foods alone with no cereal, But if she wont take it, then go ahead and just breastfeed, as long as she's eating something until shes ready for solids again then it doesnt matter!!! Good luck on getting her back to where she was! Give it time and it will all come around again!

I would just wait to give cereal/solids until she is completely over her cold.  She is getting everything she needs from your milk.  Before a year old anything other than breastmilk/formula is practice and doesn't really add anything nutritional wise.  I'm sorry she isn't sleeping through the night, it could also be because of the cold and her wanting comfort.  My daughter never slept through the night no matter how much she nursed or ate.

Thanks!  I'll probably just do that.  Forget the rice cereal altogether until she's 100% again.  She never really slept through the night anyway.  We had a nice routine going to where she'd sleep for about 5 hours, wake up to eat, and then go back to sleep for another 5.  Now she's up every 2-3 hours again. It's ok though....comes with the territory, right? :D
