Up since 2:30 for some reason. My son decided to wake up and throw tantrums in his bed for three hours because I wouldn't pat him to sleep. I know something bigger is going on I just wish I knew what it was.... :(

Yes to both. I also just introduced a small bear w/ a blanket as a transition object and he stuffs it between his legs. I'm not sure if it's a teething thing or his separation anxiety is getting worse. He still wakes up at night but usually goes back to sleep if I pat him. This daylight savings time has us all messed up too. He's waking up super early and not wanting to take his nap at all. I never knew it would be this difficult. :)

I know what you mean, it's not easy and there is always something. However with a well sleep trained baby those days should be few and far between. Naps can be more difficult but trying using the the same routine you have for bedtime for naps, so your baby knows what to expect. Do you have blackout blinds, maybe some white noise if it's noisy during the day?

I tried the good night sleep tight, a gentle method of sleep training, and even hired a local sleep consultant to help me. Let's just say it was and still is tough. The night time training came quickly but naps were a whole different story. As of now I'm trying to stick to one nap a day but he's only sleeping an hour, which is NOT long enough and others tell me that he'll naturally increase the hours but I have yet to see that happen. Now that his molars are coming in, he's not wanting me to leave the room at all and throws a fit when I leave so I have to start all over again. There always seems to be a reason why he isn't sleeping and I am unable to get past them once they occur (travel, sick, teething, separation anxiety...) I'm still waiting for some kind of normal-acy. :)
