My son is 9 months and weighs 7.7 kgs, but because he eats well and doesn't seem hungry in between feedings I'm not too terribly worried. My girls were small too. I do however take him for extra checkups at the Public Health Office to get him weighed to make sure he isn't losing,

If you are worried I'd get a second opinion though.

If she is otherwise healthy and meeting her milestones I wouldnt worry about it. I am very thin by nature and so is my youngest daughter, at birth she was over 8 lbs, but only 19 lbs at a yr old. She was otherwise healthy and walked at 9 mos actually, whic was quite funny because she was so tiny. I dont like the way your doctor was so flippant about it though. I would definitely have a problem with that. My daughter by the way is now almost 20, 5 foot tall and about 86 lbs, lol. I wantd to add that my ped at the time , though not overly concerned, did have me track her food intake for a bit, just to make sure she was consuming enough, she was, and since everything else was fine, then he said not to worry.
