Bedtime routine

Any suggestions on how to get a 2 year old to bed without his bottle of milk ? He is still in a Crib but want to get into a bedtime routine. ? Any suggestions ? Seems like a struggle every night and what is a good time to get him to bed? He has also started to give up his nap!! Any help is greatly appreciated

Thanks. He is doing better with not using a bottle before being put in the crib but is still having trouble and crying to getting out

You could do two different things....go cold turkey, which may be more of a battle at first, but after a few nights he will realize that the bottles are gone and not part of the routine anymore.

Or you can put only water in the bottle. You may still have a battle as it is not milk, but again it will pass this is also MUCH better for his teeth as milk causes tooth decay when left on teeth when they sleep. Then gradually decrease the amount of water in the bottle to where you get down to only 1 ounce. Once you have reached 1 ounce then take bottle away.
