We have four kids all living at home, aged 18yrs, 14, 7 + 5yrs. After the first two were born i suffered 3 stillbirths due to cysts on my ovaries (which surgery corrected). It's been an amazing journey as i get to be a parent for all different ages at once - i'd be interested to hear your experiences.

Hi Alison, my daughter is 17 and is in her final year at school, facing college next year. My eldest son is 9 and is growing up so quickly, and my "baby" son is nearly 6 and rules the roost! The two boys get on most of the time, when they are not wrestling with each other! My daughter and youngest son also get on quite well, but she cannot seem to find the same patience for her other brother.

I also lost a baby between my first two children, its not something you ever get over, but life goes on. You have my thoughts and sympathies on your own losses. xx

Hi there!

I have a ten year old daughter and we thought we were done. We waited a while before trying again and then nothing happend....Well, after ten years and NOT trying, we found out we were having another. She was born in July and she is now 6 months old. What a blessing she is. Her big sister LOVES her and the feeling is very mutual. No jealousy or resentment. She is like a second mommy. It was like starting over and it's much harder ten years later but I am so glad our oldest has a sibling. It always made me sad to think she would be alone after her Dad and I weren't on this earth anymore.

Hello. I have 3 kids. My oldest is 13 1/2 and going to HS in the fall, then I have a 11 year old and a 10m. We are TTC a fourth. Funny I thought the bond was going to be between my daughter, the 11 year old and the baby, a son. But my oldest son is just in love with him. He and his firends come over and just play with the baby and get so excited to see him. My daughter is 11 and I guess it is just the age, she calls the baby annoying. They all were planned. A few years after my daughter was born we tried to have another but it was not God's plan we tried for 4 years before turning to fertility treatments and concieved our 3rd. We are back with fertility treatments for our fourth.

My girls are 21 and 10. I have opened a community just for Moms like us with huge age gaps between our kids. If your interested it's OOPS,I did again! I'd love you join me in discussing the differences between the age gaps, how we all deal with it, and maybe just knowing other Moms in the same boat can make your boatride not so rocky!

We only have one so far, but my siblings and I are really spread out. My sister is 5 and a half years older, and my brother is nine and a half years younger than me. I also have an adopted brother who is 20 years younger than me. Personally, I don't want my kids quite that spread out (but I know it's God's decision when #2 comes) but my mom says she loves that we were so far apart. It was definitely hardest on my sister, but I think my mom was glad she didn't have three or four teenagers at a time, and she got to spend quality time with us through each stage of our childhoods.

My older 2 are 8 and 9 and then I just had my baby who is 8 weeks old. the reason mine are so far apart is because the older 2 are from my husband's previous marriage. I adopted them in 2006 and then when we were ready to start our family together I had some issues with my ovaries (they just weren't working). So a lot of fertility help and years later, I was finally able to have my first baby. It's actually kind of nice having the age gap because the older 2 are very helpful and self-sufficient and they absolutely love having a little brother. I'm sure it's going to get more difficult though since the older 2 are only a year apart and will be teenagers in a few short years, and I also want to have at least one more baby in a couple years so it will be strange trying to deal with teenagers and infants at the same time.
