boys vs girls

I have two daughters the oldest is almost three the youngest is 10 months. I watch my great nephew during the week and he's almost 2. I went down to do laundry today and the little boy busted my 10 month old in the mouth so bad it bled forever it seemed like. Are boys normally this much rougher then girls? Not to mention he just stares at me and moves like a snail. Is that normal for boys?

I think it's normal for boys to be rougher than girls. My 4 year old daughter plays with a 3 year old neighbor girl...and they play just fine together. The 3 yr. old has a 6 or 7 year old brother, and he is not allowed in my house anymore. All he would do was pick on them. He would hand a toy to one and then go tell the other to take it. He would hit them. And he would always watch me out of the corner of his eye and the second I wasn't looking he was trying to stuff toys and snacks and change and anything else in his pockets. Finally about 2 or 3 weeks ago I told him that he was not allowed back in my house after I caught him sneaking in the kitchen while he thought I was in the bathroom. All the kids play in the empty lot by our apartment, so I watch them sometimes...the girls are usually building sandcastles or riding bikes. The boys are throwing rocks, breaking boards, pushing each other on roller-blades up point, boys no matter what age are rougher than girls.

my oldest daughter is a tom boy but she's NEVER tried to hurt her sister. I told my mom today I'm just glad God knew what he was doing when he gave me girls!

i don't know. my daughter begged for a raccoon skin from grandpa, plays in the mud, wrestles with daddy, loves dinosaurs and say the least, she is not feminine. but she spent a lot of time with daddy since she was bottle fed, he loves her like mad and took her EVERYWHERE with him. it may change, but she's my rough and tumble. my son...cuddly, sweet, gentle. but he is EBF and daddy can't feed him and stays with me all day ?? who knows. it may change. it may depend on what gender they hang out with more. ??? but ouch, to draw blood. poor lil lady! i heard boys are rougher, but no experience beyond my two.

boys are definately made different. I have two boys and one girl, so I have seen a lot of differences. The main one is that they are rough and tough and expect everyone else to be the same. It is not unusual for my 23-mo-old to just jump on someone's back and try to wrestle. He should not be hitting though, so maybe you should have a talk with his mom.
