Breastfed baby with gas

[deleted account] ( 8 moms have responded )

My son was born Dec. 17th and is strickly breastfed. I try to not eat things that cause gas, or drink alot of caffeine, but the poor kid still has some really bad gas. I burp him every 3 mins while nursing and normally get one big burp and 2 little ones. I have checked his latch and it seems to be fine. He eats untill he gets full which is normally to empty both sides by eating for 45 mins total. This makes him very restless, and I would like him to start getting a more solid sleep during the day so he is up in the evenings...

It is common in infants all over the world. Now how to deal with that gas? I suggest you to try babies magic tea. I had once with my boy and this product worked well. You should also drink this tea.

baby ovol works great for my daughter. I've already cut dairy out of my diet because she's sensitive to it, but unfortunately she's sensitive to a lot of things.

gripe water or a tummy reliever medicine should help out. my son was colic for the first 3 months of his life and it was horrible but he was a formula feed baby.

I agree with Brandy, gripe water is the best!
Do you eat dairy? I had to stop eating all dairy because my baby girl just gets gassy and runny poops.

I was told by a nurse to try Baby's Bliss Gripe Water (it is sold at Walgreens) it's a little pricey, but it works!! With my first one, whatever I ate gave her gas. I still use it now (my two girls are 3/2) if they have tummy aches. It's all natural and dye free, unlike Mylicon.
