Can you boost fertility while breastfeeding?

I have a nine month old daughter who nurses only a few times a day now and my husband and I would like to have another child close in age, but still haven't got my menstrual cycle back. I don't want to completely wean her just yet. My question is, can you do anything to boost fertility without weaning?

I am in the same boat, though my son at 14 months old. It's frustrating- especially because we are not doing so hot in the weaning department. I'm sure you've seen this link but I found it useful: http://kellymom.com/bf/normal/fertility/

It seems that every woman is different - so unfortunately there is no secret way to boost fertility - except to keep taking care of your body and cut back the amount of time baby is latched on (the suppression of the hormone that triggers ovulation comes from suckling, not milk production, supposedly) and then, some women need to wean fully. Blah. I wish it were more black and white than that. Hopefully others can share their experiences. Good luck!

You can ovulate without your period arriving. You don't need your period to fall pregnant, you need to ovulate.

I understand that, but I'm trying to see if anyone has done anything without weaning to start ovulating again while breastfeeding.
