I am 4 weeks away from my due date and our 2 1/2 year old still does not want anything to do about talking about his baby sister on the way. He totally avoids the conversation and doesn't want anything to do with my belly. Friends of ours just had a baby so we brought our son to see him and he cried and wanted to be held whenever the baby cried and did not want me holding the baby. He has a big brother book but like I said he avoids anything that has to do with a baby. Any advice? I'm starting to feel nervous and guilty that his world of just it being him and my husband and I is about to change 😞

Wow thats tough, 1st off congratulations on another child. I would suggest that u & your Husband keep hugging& kissing him reading& other things u normally do. Im thankful I didn't have this problem my son was also exactly 2 1/2 when I had my daughter he was very happy& b4 she came I did get nervous that maybe that would change when I had her but I tried my best2 keep hugging him& kissing because it is exhausting after u have a baby so as soon as I was done breast feeding I would call him over hug & kiss him. Just b extra careful if after u have your baby if he doesn't change because he might want to hurt your baby because of jealously maybe. Keep on showing lots of love even after the baby is born!! May God Bless you and your family.

Yes, stop worrying about it and stop making your belly something that should be of interest to him. If he is only 2 1/2 he can't have a real grasp of what is really happening. It's esoteric at this stage. But he can pick up on your negative feelings of worry or concern. He is probably just distancing himself from that energy. Don't worry at all about how he feels he'll come around when by the time he is 4.
