How many moms would rather stay at home with there children than put them in child care? and when is it a good time to go back to work?

My 19month old has started attending childcare/kindy one day a week for the lsat 7 weeks and she is really loveing it! I think it is great for their social skills! I may increase to 2 days a week (because every morning she is begging to go to kindy!) but no more than that, I am not working as I have a 5 month old at home aswell and love my days spent with them both, but 1 or 2 days in care I think can be really benificial after about 15moths for social skills & preparation for school. - it owuld also depend on each child, my little girl just loves it, I spent a LOT of time checkin out all childcares and could'nt beleive the differences, some had tiny rooms and single outside areas where all ages played together, some had larger rooms with much more equipment, quallified teachers and separate outside areas for different age groups :-) I found one that is great which is why I think it is so good for her

I stayed at home with my first two kids. After the third I've decided to work part time. I think it's a good thing to have some time to get away and miss the kids! Also it's nice to have some of my own money that I made. I work hours that Daddy is home, so we don't need day care.

I have done both and would definitely rather stay at home. However, at this point, I can't imagine doing anything but stay at home. When my son was in child care, I got a call every two weeks and had to take him to the doctor. All of my children have gone to 'preschool' (9-1) programs, but it's not the same as child care. Most moms go back to work when all their kids start Kindergarten. I plan on continuing to stay home, possibly work part time or volunteer/sub at the school.
