They can make ornaments or designs with Crayola Model Magic. Reindeer faces from 3 craft sticks made into a triangle with antlers, glue on googly eyes and a red pom pom nose. I know its late but you can get some cute ideas from Oriental Trading or even the whole craft sets to make.

Also you could make applesauce cinnamon ornaments. They smell great . 1 cup applesauce,1and 1/2 cup of cinnamon,1Tsp of glue. Mix together. the dough will be alittle wet. If you feel it is to wet add alittle more cinnamon. Roll them out, cut them out, make a hole for the string with a straw. You can bake them in the oven at 250 degrees for 1and 1/2 hours. I added glitter to mix it looked great. Then get him some of those glitter glue pens to decorate. My kids loved doing these. You can get the cinnamon for 2 for a $1 at dollar general.

i went to joann fabrics and bought 2 little wooden ornaments that u put pics in. one is an angel (my daughters) and the other a christmas elf (my sons). They are plain and ready to be painted. So I will let the kiddos paint them up how they want, stick their pics in the face hole and viola! Something theri grandparents will keep for years to come and to be displayed year after year on their Christmas tree.

my little cousin made christmas ornaments last year out of clay that can be baked to make it harden. They were cut into the shapes of stars, gingerbread men, bells, trees and stockings. He then painted them and wrote a message on the back. He even made one for our daughter as a "first christmas" ornament. Dont forget to make a hole to hang it on the tree! (he forgot on some)
