I have 2 daughters and they are both very clingy it is sometimes very hard to get anything done. Do any of you have the same problem and what do you do to help the situation.

Sometimes, sitting with them for a few minutes of undivided attention can earn you some time of your own if the issue is trying to get work done at home.My 4yr old is also very clingy and I find I just have to be firm with him.I tell him that I have to do a job/go somewhere and that I will be back to him. I make sure when I return to give him a big hug and reassure him all of the time that I will be there, even if I have to go away for short periods of time cccasionally. Unfortunately there is no quick fix for this. You have to be firm, but always reassuring.Never impatient. But you can't give into it either.I have 3 older kids who never 'suffered' with this so it is new to me.The coming back when you say you will is very important.

Good luck! And if you find a strategy that works feel free to share with me!!

my lil girl is 12months and will not let me leave her sight unless she is with daddy, nana or pawpaw anybody else and she has a fit.(and thats only if she does not see/or hear me). I cant even leave her in the church nursery. But we are working on it. I try to sit on the bed to fold laundry and she will scream till shes on my lap so I she gets her own pile of clothes and I go to do something else in the same room and what does she do...screams. But like my son who is 11 he was the same way and now hes very independent for his age, im guessing since he was on my hip all the time he learned alot. so they outgrow it..lol it will be okay.

My daughters are the same way. My 3 yr old has started this whole "Mommy don't leave me I need you" Ugh talk about heartbreaking but I agree with Sinead I try to be firm and remind her Mommy's never leave forever we always come back. She also seems to think the bathroom has an escape hatch or something lol Good luck!

I have one very clingy 4 month old...she will scream bloody murder from the time you put her down until the time you pick her back up....Its the same way if I put her in the carseat.. wow ya would think that shes being tortured lol people look at me like I am a monster sometimes lol But I think that shes just a little to spoiled to having somebody hold her all the time...I have noticed that if i lay her on her belly she does not cry near as much but passes out much quicker lol so i totally understand. Cant get much done when they want every second of your day. I love her but cant hold her all the time lol I do lay her on her play mat with a blanket and her teething ring and she fusses a bit but usually goes to sleep in like 5 mins :) good luck if you find anything that works post and let us know :)
