Hi everyone, I have a 6 day old baby girl, started of with breastfeeding, now on formula as well as needed to be topped up. Last two nights have been hell, starts fussing at 9.30pm and screams in pain, legs drawn up and will fall.asleep on your chest . Once u put her down it starts all over again. This goes on till about 2am. . Makes for a long night. Then she pretty much sleeps perfectly all day.. has anyone got any ideas... it's 3rd baby just never encountered that many hours of being unsettled and in pain.

I had the same problem years ago with my daughter.. changed the formula 3 times, ended her up on soy formula. In the mean time I was told by an elderly women my late husband had on his route, to open a some ginger ale or seven up or some thing along that lines, leave it open for a bit to flatten it and have it go to room temp. that helped settle her stomach down.. My daughter would cry her lungs out all night long and her legs would do like our baby girl is doing..

My baby was the same and was very intolerable especially during night time. I soothed him by giving babies magic tea.

Hi are you going to stick to breastfeeding? or doing both?. If the fussiness is the same time every day, it's colic. My daughter who is now 8 months old had it for a few months and it started every day @ 730pm for about 20 minutes. We had to do a lot of walking around the house and finding distractions for her and it helped everytime. The formula may not be setteling with her tummy, I would talk to your pediatrician if you have one. Hope this helps and yes every baby has colic its normal but you also wanna watch her temperature-Gretchen
