My 13 month old munchkin has had alot of trouble with what I think is constipation. She gets alot of fruit, and she drinks prune juice even, but she still has hard bowel movements, and not as regular as she used to...she is off formula now, and completely on milk, and that is about when it started...could it be a milk allergy? i have always heard of a milk allergy causing diarrhea, but can it also cause constipation? She has a good amount of fruit every day, and loves yogurt, so i am not sure if this is just a phase or what?! This is causing her to be very cranky too...

My 20-mo daughter has the same problem! 3-4 days between movements, then much squatting, grunting and crying. Sometimes it's not so bad, but most times I have to rush to get her to her changing table and push her legs up so she can push out this hard adult-sized poop!

But the most recent bout has been different. For almost two days, every single diaper had a piece of poop. Then one day of no grunting, etc. Now we're back to it, with no poop yet. Sigh.

I have an email into my pediatrician. I'll let you know what I find out!
