Hi. I am looking for advice on how to handle a very difficult situation. I have two daughters( ages 4 and 1.5) I live in a small town where my husbands entire family lives too. My sister in laws kids ( ages 6 and 8 ) are absolutely out of control. For example they came over yesterday for 2 hours. In that time the made fun of my daughter speech, hit the fog with a screw driver, kept disappearing in the house to riffle through my stuff, wouldn't let my 1.5 year old play with any toys, screamed, broke stuff, painted on my daughters bed with nail Polish and made a huge mess. ( not to mention the way they talk to each other, me and their mother)

I am constantly following them around and even though we have mentioned the issues to their mother, she seems uninterested in making any changes. The 6 year old is quite physical at school ( hit a girl in the face causing her to lose a tooth) the 8 year old is also struggling at school. My kids love their cousins. But I fear for their safety. maybe I'm over reacting. Any advice?

I would tell my sister in law nicely that her kids behavior will not be tolerated in your house. If she wants to meet at her house or at the park/playground so the kids can play then that would be fine. If they are destroying your items in your home then they can't come over. It cost money to replace the things the kids destroy or stain.
