My 17 month old went peepee on the potty today. I am so excited for her and for me lol. We bought her pull-ups yesterday hoping to get more into the training and to make diaper changes easier (she is H-O-R-I-B-L-E when it comes to changing her diaper). I didn't expect me to put her on the potty this morning and for her to just go. I then put her on every hour after that and she went 1 other time. I am realistic and know that right now I am just getting lucky and she isn't doing it intentionally but does anyone have any ideas how to get her to understand what she is doing? I in no way want to push her into going on the potty. If she isn't potty trained til she is 2or3 that is fine but she seems very interested so how do I nurture the curiosity without pushing her? Any help/advice is appreciated.

If she likes watching videos every once in a while, there are a couple of them out there, elmo has one and my daughter has one called "once upon a potty" It has a song on it that we modified a little, and I sing it every time she uses the potty (shes almost 19 months.) Once upon a potty is also a book and of course there are many potty books to choose from too if she is more of a book reader! Just keep talking to her and encouraging her!! We started training a few months ago and my daughter is already starting to tell us when she has to poo! Its very exciting when they start learning!!
