Depression and Stay at Home Moms

I've always had problems with depression growing up, but now that I'm staying home with my daughter it seems so much worse. I love her more than anything but she's going through a stage where she has a fit about every little thing which makes for a very stressful time. My husband is very supportive of me but he doesn't have a clue what its like to have your only contact be a 15 month old. Things are very tight these days which makes it that much more stressful. I just need some tips on what to do to get through it I've had a job since i was 14 so I feel lost staying home. Our families are an hour away, which frankly is a good ting and we don't really have any friends and the few that we do don't have children so there's not much of a support system.

I too have had trouble with depression but only since I had my 18 month old. I find going out for a walk really helps. I have also started seeing a therapist which seems to help a little. If you have other friends with kids try getting together with them. I go to the park & the library or we take turns having each other over. If you don't have friends with little ones close by maybe you'll meet another mom at the library. Most libraries have programs for babies and they are free. Our Park & Rec department has a 3 month gymnastics program that's only about $60. My son really enjoys it and I like talking to the other moms.
