Depression vs Burnout? Do you ever feel like you have absolutely no life?

I feel guilty even saying that. I am a sahm of two. I have a nanny I can use when I need to run errands or hubby & I have a date night. Yet I still feel sad and like my life has no meaning. I mean most days I have nothing to even leave the house for. I still do, but it's always to the mall play ground, park, chucky cheese, or real errands like grocery store. Since I stopped working 3 years ago, I've lost touch with the few friends I had. I just feel so disconnected from the world, like I'm at home all day nursing, changing diapers, cleaning spills, doing chores, rocking babies, etc, etc, and the world is just going on so busily out there.
How can I tell if I'm depressed or just burnt out?
I really have the perfect life so I wonder if it isn't depression

I understand how you feel (except the nanny part, I wish). Im a stay at home mom of twin boys 18 months of age , and was always a working girl. My life to the outside seems perfect , because I have an amazing husband who works and I can stay and be at home with our children. But that can be both VERY depressing and you could be burned out. I would find myself being mad at him , for no reason at all, just because on the inside I would feel like ; he gets to go out and work , congregate with co workers etc , see the outside world , while i'm at home cleaning up and running after 2 wild and crazy kids. You get depressed doing the same thing day in and day out. Its like you need a change, and the thought of it all is so draining and it just burns you out.
SO to give myself some sanity (because I don't have many friends that are moms) , I found a hobby , volunteering in a boutique shop once a week . I can get out talk to people and for 1 day I feel like me again . Maybe you doing something that you loved to before the kids, once or twice a week might help...
