We gave both of our boys the Poly-Vi-Sol infant/toddler drops to ours. Although, if you ask your pharmacist, they can point you in the direction of the generics too.

Our pediatrician recommended them for Vitamin D, getting enough can be a problem if you live in certain areas.

I only did once my son tested for low iron. If he didn't have low-iron, I never would have started. I found a brand that tasted like citrus when he was littler, so he would take it willingly. Now that he's 21 months, he gets the chewables.

taking vitamins doesnt do harm so why not take them?also ,if you are breastfeeding, your baby definately needs them, I breastfed and my dr. recommended vitamins because very rarely, no matter how much a mother eats, she isn't getting everything, therefore the breastmilk will not have all the vitamins and nutrients babies need.it is good for mom and baby to take them.

Unless your doctor recommends using them for a specific reason then I think they're completely unecessary at that age.....children should be getting all the nutrients and vitamins they need from either formula or breastmilk!

Of course if you're breastfeeding, don't forget about vitamin D! Vitamin D absolutely needs to be supplemented in the first year if you're breastfeeding ONLY! Formula's are specifically designed with Vitamin D to make up for what the mother's breastmilk is lacking!

I gave my kids the liquid vitamin drops when they were that young. I think its very important for them to take their vitamins, the average persons diet doesnt give all the vitamins and nutrients our body needs.

I give my little one Poly-Vi-Sol. He is 2 months. I gave his big sister that too until she was old enough to chew the gummy ones. I mostly do it for the Vit D. The rest he gets from my milk.
