Im not ready for our DD to give up her nap just yet and she is going into VPK in August so she will still be taing a nap. My DS in 7 1/2 year old doesnt like naps but I make him lay down and at least rest his body. If your oldest doesnt nap, what does he/she do during the youngest naptime?

My oldest daughter just turned 5 in May and my middle daughter is turning 4 in September. Up until the summer I had them both napping or "resting" regularly. My oldest most times didn't nap although she needed it, and my youngest def. needs it. Recently found out that for both of them their kindergarten and prek programs starting in August are from 12:10-2:50 so to prepare them I stopped naps, but I do have them rest for at least an hour They can lay quietly with a book or watch tv(they don't get to watch much tv so for them to watch for an hr. is not a big deal) for them down time is still much needed. you can see a huge change in their behavior and temperment when not given the time to rest. 7 1/2 seems a little old for naps but I think everyone kid (and their moms!) need down time. A book, quiet game, coloring, etc. I think would be good activities for your son. Really anything that will require him to sit/lay quietly for a short time.
