I can suggest night terrors..... It depends on if she's responsive to you or not. I have a six year old that has had them since he was 2, and my 4 year old (3 at the time) had an episode so bad he just sat up screaming unresponsive, and peed on himslef. It' very scary, but I think more to us than them, they never remember them. you can look it up and probably figure out what it is. Good Luck!

My 2.5 yr. old daughter wakes up crying uncontrollably from her naps. She has been doing it since she was about 1yr. I have a feeling it has to do with her sleep cycles. She wakes up when she's in a light sleep, and she is obviously not ready to get up (we learned the hard way). So now we let her cry, which lasts just a few minutes, until she usually falls back to sleep for a while or she calms down and becomes herself again. Every child is different and as a parent, it is so hard to hear your child screaming. By going in to get her the first few times, I learned that my daughter was OK and not scared. She was just extremely out of it. From that time on, my husband and I realized that the safest and best way to deal with it is to wait it out. Otherwise, she'll throw everything in sight and be a walking monster. What can I say? She takes after me!

My almost three year old had a terrible habit of doing that... She seems to be outgrowing it now. We found out that she was scared and so we have really limited her tv to just kid shows and not much. We also check her room for monsters before bedtime. And, probably the biggest and best, we don't let her get over tired. We moved her bedtime up to 7:30p from 9p and she even goes to bed easier. She normally comes to our room around 5:30am to sleep on the floor next to our bed, but the screaming has ended for the most part. Good luck.

Is she watching alot of scary movies or anything? I had to realize(I hate admitting this) but even shows like Batman(the cartoon) is scary to him and he was having nightmares. He's only allowed to watch veggietales now and other simple stuff. I even cut back off on TV and made him play outside and I still do. My husband and I were also at a point not too long ago, where we were arguing alot and now we have to take it in the bedroom because it really affected our son. Hope this helps. God Bless!
