it all depends on you, as many have said. my first was 6 hrs long- he was 7.6. my second was 2 hrs- but he was 9.5. so where the time was shorter the weight was more coming out faster throught my short body lol.

so you see with all the labor stories you never know what your body is going to do

4 children, 4 different labours: Lily was induced 9days early due to pre-eclampsia in labour for 14 hours epidural didnt work, pushing for 2 and half hours, emergency c section, Adele 12 months 3 weeks younger than Lily, Labour started they checked me I was 5cm by the time they had moved me from upstairs to downstairs I was pushing, 7 pushes she was born in her bag of waters labour was only 1 hour, Michael-James 6 hours back to back waters didnt break midwife burst with her finger as I was pushing 5 pushes he was born a few minutes after waters braking, Liam 6hours born at home again midwife broke my waters with her fingers as I was pushing 3 pushes and he was born, no pain relief with 2nd, 3rd and 4th child refused as 1st labour was horrid!!! all children were born within 4 and half years. After pains become worse the more children you have!!!!!! Parent hood is a wonderful experience the more you hhave the greater it gets people worry that its hard to love 4 children its not at all its the most wonderful rush of love ever xx

No...Every labor is different, same as every child you have is different. I wish that was true. For me it was the opposite...

for my sister i know her 1st was faster and less stressful for her. 1st 12hours and no complications. her second 15 hours, the baby poopd in her and he had to be assisted out and she lost a fair bit of blood.

im pregnant with my second and im really hoping this one is a bit more simple. my 1st was 37 1/2 hours and was vaccumed out.

I would say that yes it is easier but then again I hade my second a year after my first. It was easier in the sence that you are more aware of you body and what it is trying to tell you during the whole labour proccess.

The second is usually easier than the first. Your body has done it before and it knows what to do. My first delivery was so painful l was delirious- back labor. My second baby l labored at home for 7 hours and got to the hospital 10 minutes before he was out. l think it helps knowing what to expect the second time. l was able to relax more and work thru it. That and the first baby was face up which made it so bad. So it's a combination of everything. As long as the baby is facing the right way, it should be much easier.

all labors are different...i would say in a way it is easier because you know what to expect. As a normal each labor is a bit shorter than the one before..but not always. My first labor was long... my 3rd labor was not soo long. But all 3 were different...and all worth every second of it.

sure was for me! 6 hours total labor with second. a lot depends on position of baby though. I can't recommend enough! i swear it helped my labor go fast. I wish I had known for my first.

My second took longer than my First
My daughter Tannith took +/- 15 mins And My Son Flynn took +/- 25 mins
I had it easy as both my labour's where silent so only had pain while the kids where actually coming out they had me strapped to some machine to let them know when i was having contractions as i could not feel them.
I was a very lucky lady

I think it's different for each person. I've had 3 and for me each labour was easier than the last but each pregnancy was harder than the one before.

I don't think there is any definite answer. My mother says she was in labour with me about 8 hours, my younger brother about 4 hours and my sister (3rd child) for about 3 contractions (although she was several weeks early and somewhat small). I was in labour with my first child (9.5lbs and a huge head) about 20 hours from the start of frequent regular contractions to the C-section. I had to have the C-section because I couldn't get more than 6 cm's dilated even with drugs to help the contractions. I was exhausted by that point and the doctors said it just wasn't working. My second child (8.5 lbs and also a large head) I was in labour for about 36 hours and did manage to get to the pushing stage this time but even with two hours of pushing and some drugs to help I still couldn't get my daughter down low enough for the doctors to help pull from that end. They wouldn't let me push for more than an hour after they gave me the drugs to help the contractions as they were afraid it would rupture the previous c-section scar. So I ended up having another C-section. Guess my body is just not cut out for giving birth. All I can say is thank heavens for epidurals or the c-sections would have happened much much earlier. My mother had an epidural with me and I think with my brother. My sister arrived too fast.

no! my first was super easy no problems :) then with my second it was horriable after labor and starting to push i had to have a e.r. c-section! every baby is different and you have to prepare for the worst and pray fopr the best :)

both of mine were very different.i don't know if i would say one was easier than the other. i had one baby and was in labor for a week (2 mos early) the second i was only in labor for about one hour.the pain was the same both times just different durations.
