Does the quality of food and artifiicial chemicals such as preservatives, msg, flavourings and colourings affect the development and millstones of a very young child? Anyone with 1st hand experience to share? How has it affected the child?

Hi! I wish to find out how artificial chemicals such as additives, preservatives, msg, flavourings and colourings affect a young child? I read quite a bit on it from research studies but wish to find out from moms with 1st hand experience.

O I agree, I would like to know too, I do however think that not all kids are affected by food, it also has alot to do with how they are brought up :o)

Thanks a lot, LauraBeth!

My sister has 3 children, one of whom (her daughter) is only 3 years plus and my sister-in-law has got a son (9 this year). And for both moms, they feed their children everything under the sun!

They gulped down quite a bit of soft drinks, lots of sweets, eat food containing msg etc, but they are normal, who are active and give tantrums when anger. They can be aggressive too.

I was just wondering whether they would still be the same had they taken food containing NO artificial chemicals, dyes etc.

One thing for sure is that they were so shocked that I am very particular on what I feed my girl and sympathise with my girl actually, saying she is very poor thing, as she cant eat sweets, chocolates, soft drinks etc. :(

Hence, for my question. If a mom has fed unhealthy food but changed the diet actually, due to some behaviour she observed in her child, I would surely want to know.

I havent had 1st hand experience with this matter nor do I intend to find out. I do not believe in feeding my children someting that was not natural. i have seen many hyper children, fat children, and children not where they should be mentally. studies have have been out since the 70's and it all points to all the chemicals, colorings, msg, etc. to hender our children. I wouldnt want to experiment on my child to find out either (not saying anyone has) There is far more proof out there that eatting health is good for you lol
