Egg Donation

I'm wondering if any moms have every tried or had an egg donation? I've done a lot of research and would love to become an egg donor, the only problem is everytime I find a clinic that works with egg donation, they are in a distant state and I don't have the funds to travel. I have a 19 month old and an 8 month old, there's no way I can travel to another state and stay for a week or so. I reside in Roanoke, Virginia. I have an appointment with my doctor next week and I plan to speak with him about egg donation, but I was wondering if anyone's been through it and what it's really like. Any advice on how to become an egg donor

I have not been through this personally but I do know what it intails. The first part of the egg donations is to overstimulate the ovaries to produce more eggs than normal. This is done by daily injections and can cause a lot of discomfort as the ovary gets ready to release eggs. There are side affects from these drugs and the whole process is not with out hidden dangers to your health.Talk to your gp and then talk to the nearest clinic you really need to do your homework on this before you go ahead. It is a very admiral thing that you want to do and I wish you well! xx
