I just moved to a new area my daughters insurance turned off so going to a drs would be ( but- will if emergency) and it's a Saturday only drs opened I called left message but won't call back me back. Can't find thermonitor but know she has had a fever yesterday because her head tummy nd feet were VERY hot. She wasn't drinking much water, tried giving her tylenol but she spits a lot of it out . Last night she was very hot sleeping woke up threw up twice, she has a runny nose cough and diareah. She did wake up and her head tummy and feet don't feel as hot she is drinking water and eating playing around is fussier than normal. Please help, very worried.

Try a regular bath no cold, get a thermometer ASAP. That's the olby way to see if fever is dropping. Dr always told us if u can bring fever down with meds and they are drinking fluid and playing not to worry as much. But if she is not drinking and has diarrhea then u might need to bring her him because kids get dehydrated quickly.

Thank you everyone for your responses! She is doing well, runny nose has gone away, may have turned into a stuffy nose can't tell now. She is playing drinking pedialight and water, but doesn't like the pedialight much. She is fussy but doing much better! Thank you all!!!!

I had this problem with my three year old over Christmas. Try giving her children's Advil. It is safe for children 2 and up and works miracles on the fever. No juice or milk, but give her plenty of Gatorade or Pedialite (they are basically the same, but if she is picky, Gatorade has more flavors). Let her nap frequently or at least encourage her to lay down and rest. For my son, I did this and it passed in a day or two.

Yeah just write down times u giver her meds u can alternate them every 3 hours but a slight fever is okay because her body is fighting off the cold. Glad u feel a little better, the cold will soon pass too :)

Thank you for responding she is playing and we went our walmart I spoke to a pharmicist who showed us motrin since we already have tylenol. We got a thermonitor and opened it in the store to check her temp and her fever has came down so that's a reliefe. We also bought pedialight liquid and the popcicles for her. She is playing drinking water and pedialight, still has runny nose and cough and I'm sure diareah but she hasn't gone yet.

I guess my question is how do I bring her fever down, and what should I avoid doing that would make it worse.
