I used to work at an eye doctor and I have a great trick. Have the child close their eyes. Drop a drip into the inside corner of the eye and then have them blink. This way they don't see it coming, works every time!

like you would any other person. i would get the original brand of whatever eyedrop preference so that it won't irritate their eye. you just have to hold them down squirt it in there, and let them fuss for two seconds. just like sucking out their nose when it's stuffed up. good luck. my neice who is the same age hates anything in or on her face.

We had to do this recently when our son was 18 months. At first we tried putting it on our finger and rubbing it on his eye like the doctor said, but it didnt seem to be healing fast. My husband and I got some of our eyedrops and let him pretend to put them in ours. Then we let him hold the closed bottle while we carefully and calmly laid him down and dropped them in his eyes. We turned on his favorite show so he would be distracted and also keep his eyes open and it worked great. We just had to let him know that it wasnt scary and it didnt hurt. We were really surpirsed when he didnt freak out and let us do it! Good luck!

Yes, first I have my son close his eye and (with his eyes still closed) I put a drop or two in the corner of his eye (closest to his nose) then have him open and blink a couple times. I learned this tip from my eye doctor and it's been a savior! Hope it helps Tina, and good luck! hehehe
