yes they can get fevers when they are teething my daughter now 2yrs and 1 month she still gets fevers everytime she teeths my son 1yr and 1 week has never had a fever its different everytime and i would recomend to atleast put some form of clothing on when sleeping threw the night maybe a onsie and its ok to worry lol but if he is teething id give oraljel and tylenol if its just a fever and no teething tylenol and either way monitor the fever good luck oh and my daughter gets her fever until the tooth cuts the gum when its close you know what i mean

thanks guys, this isnt his first temp./fever problem weve had but never been sick.
BIG question? ive been told that they do run slight fever when teething..(have 10 teeth) then ive been told no they dont run fever when teethin?
usually we sleep only in diaper and cool bath and tylenol..(wen recomended) i was only curious, sometimes iworry i do kno that if it gets 104 that cando brain damage or other problems.
but let me know what u think or have heard bout the teething/fever ordeal.

My son at 5 months old had a fever of 105 and i took him to the hospital..they did all kinds of tests with no results..had no idea why he had the fever...said maybe its a virus and his body reacted to it differently...all they said is if i have trouble breaking his fever after giving him motrin than give him tylenol as well. you give them both and the exact recommended dosage don't go over and that helps break their fever. last week I went though that with both of my kids and didn't take them to the hospital and just did what I mentioned to you....unless there are other concerns than take him in...

Not sure where you are from but in Aus = above 38 celcius.
Or prolonged fever where they are listless
or a fever that goes up and down very quickly say - 36 up to 39 and back down and back up (as an example) because quick fluctuations can cause febrole convulsions which you do not want!

well what would you go in for if you had a fever your 1yr old has a normal body temp like you and i by now so if you have a 101 temp would you go to the hospital id atleast call when the temp hits 100 and you cant get it down in an hour normally if you call they say give tylenol and monitor temp if it doesn go down go in but id call if it hits 100

hosp or er i think it depends on temp and other symptoms, you could always call a 24 hr nurse line through your ins , or call ped on call at your office and ask whatever you want to!!... also my ped office has automated service, esp now with the season that breaks symptoms down, what to do, and when, also has same online, very helpful as i have called a few times now!!
