My 9 month old daughter has a tough time sleeping through the night alone. So, my boyfriend and I are going to record a few songs to play while she is sleeping. We are hoping that hearing our voices will be soothing for her and help her sleep better at night. I am trying to put together a list of songs to sing though...lullabies, soothing songs, duets? What are your favorites?

"Baby Mine" is one of our faves, too. :) Also, "Kathy's Song" by Simon & Garfunkle, "Pony Man" by Gordon Lightfoot, "All the Pretty Little Ponies", "Pooh Corner", It's basically a concert every night. LOL. A new one that both my boys love is the Lullaby from Imagination Movers. You can also put on a cd of white noise, rain sounds, etc. They actually make white noise cd's for babies. Or softly playing the classical radio station.

our favorite is "Baby Mine" from the Dumbo movie...i've been singing it since she was an infant and even now at 3 1/2 she asks for it, either at nighttime, or if she gets a bump and cries, this is her soothing song that only mommy can soothe away the pain with :)

Sometimes just playing music, like relaxation cd's or instrumental stuff helps too. (anything besides the silence) My Little one loves Twinkle Twinkle and Mary had a little lamb.

We read a book to the kids sing Sound of Music songs & when they were really young we would play "Disney Lullaby" CD. That one still works. The cover is ivory w/a little baby on the front.

I read a book to my kids before they went to bed. You could do that. I also made up songs for my babies. They are 9 and 7 now. They still ask me to sing it to them every now and then. Maybe one day they will sing it to their kids. :)

"morning town ride", "lullaby medley" by Anne Murray, unicorn song, puff the magic dragon, we seem to do a concert each night, I'm so sick of hte songs I've started on the Rocky horror picture show because at least I can remember the words.

my son loves twinkle twinkle and my daughter loves insey wincey spider (I know it's not a lullaby but she's loved it from day one and it's the only song that sends her to sleep or calms her down when she is upset)

My favorite is Butterfly Kisses, the kids' favorite is twinkle twinkle little star. There are lots of versions of Butterfly Kisses out there, most have lots of other lullabies with them.
