My daughter is 15 months old and she wont sleep all through the night unless I am holding her. Any advice for me to get her to sleep without me?

Also she isn't talking. I have read that by 15 months they should say at least four words, well she doesn't. She says dada and mama but not that often she mainly babbles. Should I be worried? And what ways can I help her more to start talking?

Hi, with my elder son, routine was very good for me, and I lay down with him at bed time and read a story or played classical music to him until he fell asleep, I done this for a while and now at nearly 3 he tells me he's going bed, and sleeps all through the night. Bear in mind he has only just started sleeping through the night. Reading to them is the best thing for their vocabulary. My son has been speaking sentences from age 2 . But this is also because I spoke to him in everything I did when he was younger. We think they don't understand when they do. They just storing it up. The most important time in a child's life for learning is 0-2. Even things as simple as pointing to food on your plate naming it, really helps. Hope this helps. Tara x

I took her to the doctor and she doesn't have an ear infection. it may be a stage she is going through. she doesn't even want her father, which hurts him and makes him mad at me because of it. I just hope she grows out of it and soon. I love being her main person just hate the being up all night and trying to keep her calm and quite so she doesn't wake up my hubby and hate hurting him

I'm sorry! Understand how hard that is! Do you think maybe she might have an ear infection? Sometimes young ones don't get fevers right away. Or maybe it just might be a phase that she will out grow. She may just want the comfort of her mama :)

I tried the letting her cry it out but it didn't work with her, she will fall asleep in my arms and usually will sleep all through the night. but the past few nights she will wake up and wont go back to sleep unless im holding her. its wearing me out. lol.

Did you always hold her while she slept or is it something new? I rocked my daughter to sleep up until she was 9 months old. One day I got so tired of watching my friend put her son down in his crib and he would just go to sleep! I was like I want that too! I did the old fashion "let her cry it out". It was tough!!! I felt terrible but after 2 days she got the idea and I never had to rock her again. One of my friend's did the co-sleeping thing. Her daughter is 5 now and still doesn't sleep in her own bed. She's been starting slowly with moving her out of her bed after she falls asleep. I don't know if you were doing any of these things but just some things I did and what friend's did :) As far as talking maybe ask her ped doctor. Some kids are early with talking and some are late. She is babbling so that is good! That means she is talking! But as far as words she should be saying more than mama and dada. Like I said, just check with her doc :)
