[deleted account] ( 7 moms have responded )

My daughter just turned five months old and was wondering what toys and activites other moms loved. Er their kids loved. She has a bouncing jungle set, bouncy chair, walker, swing and two playmats that have toys that hang down. She needs toys that we can sit down and play together. We have been playing with kitchen spatulas rattles and stuffed animals.i dont want anything big or expensive and something she can play with for a while. Any suggestions on must have toys or activitea we can do around the house? She just started sitting up. Thanks

My son isn't quite 5 months and he loves the song "Head, shoulders, knees and toes." I go through the motions on him then I do it on me, sometimes my daughter will do it around him.

Here are some games you can play with your daughter:

My son liked peek-a-boo at that age -- still does! And he loved his soft fabric ball. Lots of good stuff to chew on, too.

You can also sing songs and move different parts of his body around. Like The Wheels on the Bus: circle his legs for the wheels, touch his nose for the horn beeps, and so on. There's Pat-a-Cake and Itsy Bitsy spider, all those kind of songs.

Anything that makes noise or lights up. My daughter loves her older sisters barbies and those teething links right now.

My daughter LOVED to take objects in and out of boxes. She had a box of her socks that she played with for long periods of time...pulling the socks out, putting them back in, repeat, repeat. She also had this http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp... that she loved. Also, books with REAL pictures, especially pictures of babies were very interesting to her.
