Just curious as to how many ounces of formula your baby is consuming in a 24 hour period of time, how old they are, and what they weigh...? My little man eats between 20-25oz within a 24 hour period. He's 12 weeks old and weighs 12lbs 8oz.

Please no grief about not breastfeeding. Very unfortunately it did not work out for us for reasons beyond my control and I still get very upset about it =(

I didn't breastfeed either..don't sweat it. Your baby is about the same size as mine was @ that age & he ate about the same as your little guy. As long as he has the 6 wet diapers a day & is pooping once a day or every other day & of course is growing he's doing great! Please don't feel bad about breastfeeding not everyone can do it, you're doing your best & that's all that matters!

My daughter is 13 weeks and she weighs about 11lbs... She eats anywhere from 35-45 ounces in a 24 hr period depending on wether or not she wakes up during the night... She eats 5 ounces in every bottle... I put 5 oz water and 2 scoops of formula because my baby gets a bit constipated at times so I like to dilute the formula more than it call for...

My sister in law has a 14 week old baby and he weights 17 and a half pounds... Her doctor said not to feed him more than 30 ounces in a 24 hr period. So I guess it just depends on the baby and what ur pediatrician thinks is best.

Hope that helps! Have a wonderful day!

Thanks Theresa! Yeah I really try to not get so down about it but it's hard. I go to a moms group every Friday and when one of the moms starts to breastfeed I immediately get so down and I wanna take my bottle of formula and hide it =(

This has nothing to do with amounts, but about the breastfeeding. I didn't have luck with my first two babies either. Don't beat yourself up about it. Plenty of babies are fed formula and are just fine. It did work better for my 3rd baby and I got 6 months of breastfeeding in. It may work better for you next time too. Just thought I'd give a little encouragement. :)

My 2 week old eats 18-24 oz in a 24 hour period and she is around 7.5 lbs now. She just made it up to that within the past 2 days up from about 14-16 oz.
