My son was formerly on Enfamil Gentlease and we switched him over to Similac Sensitive 3 days ago. Since we made the switch he has been having very frequent stools which are watery and brown. Any of you other mommies have this happen? If so what did you do? Did you switch to something else? If not how long did it take baby's stools to go back to normal?

my oldest is the only one i switched from one brand to the other really we were first time parents and didnt realize how fast their little tummy reject formula so we had two sample cans of two different brands and didnt know which one to use to we tried both she did good with the first which was nestle good start and the second was similac i think and she got real sick so we just went right back to nestle the next time we switched her it was to a store no name brand that all ingredients were the same or pretty damn close and we starting blending them for her to get use to it slowing uping the mixture of the new stuff and less of the old did this when the can was almost of of old stuff so we didnt waste it her stools went alittle weird but a took about less then a week to fix it self

Sara we switched because here in MD Wic only offers Similac. He is doin much better now but we ended up having to switch over to the Soy formula which is way easier on his tummy.

I had my son on good start gental and he never had a problem you might want to try that. What you are goin through could be an allergic reaction or just because of the change.I seen on the news similac was contaminated.good luck to you and I hope you find something that works.O and why did you switch?

I've been going through formula issues with my 1 month old also. She has always pooed alot, but when she was 10 days old, I had to stop nursing, because of jaundice issues and she was losing too much weight. She started on similac advanced then, and gradually her stools increased til she was going over 20 times a day and became more watery. She also started screaming before she would go. I switched her over to Isomil, and the stools slowed down, but she was still screaming before she went. So, I took her to the doc, and the doc said she thinks she was having problems with the proteins in milk and soy and put her on Nutramigen. That was on Friday, and it has taken all weekend, but now her stools are getting thicker, and she is still fussing before she goes, but she isn't screaming.

I had lots of formula problems. My son was drinking similac sensitive too, but sim. is always on the news/babys in china who drank sim. where seriously sick, so we stopped giving him similac. our son was spitting a lot from similac adv. so we switched to similac sensitive then to soy formula. But like i said everyb. talking bad bout sim. we tried parent's choise sensitive. That works pretty good, but he has a hard time to poo now so i make sure i feed him some fruits. Try a different formula and watch your baby, see if it's the right one for him.

its probably just switching the formula. my son has been on enfmail gentle ease also since birth and we had to give him regular enfail for a while because we ran out of the other. my sons poop became stinky and runny and he didnt even have to push. it will take awhile for your son to get used to it. but if it takes more than 2 weeks then go back to the other. we didnt want to do similac because it was hard on tummies.

I formula fed my younger son for the most part. I don't remember my son having that problem. But I did notice it with other foods. It is possible the formula is not agreeing with him. I would give it at least a few more days as sometimes it takes time for their systems to get use to things and then if it persists, switch to a different one.
