Hey, just wanted to share my experience with you. I have 2 children, a 3 year old girl and 8 month old boy. They both had their swine flu jabs on the 5th March! We live in England and got a letter through the post for a drop in at the doctors for children under 5 years and over 6 months.

As we waited for our childrens names to be called we worried as children older than ours were coming out crying. When we were eventually called my daughter sat on my lap and our nurse administered the vaccine into her left arm. My daughter made a face to cry and let out a little moan but no tears!! I was sooo proud of her! :) My little boy was next and he had his in his left leg and he cried for about half a minute until I stood up and rocked him!!! By the time we were out of the nurses room my children were their normal selves!

The next day, my daughter complained twice about a sore arm but no temperature and was fine all day and today!! My son was a bit moany on the second day, a very slight temperature, but no fever and was still smiling away (all my baby boy does is smile ALL DAY ) and today he is fine!

Just thought I'd let all you mum's know my experience as I know this is a very difficult decision to make. I chose to have my children vaccinated because, after a LOT of research, I decided that my children getting swine flu and dying outweighed any side effects.

Of course we have no way of knowing what this new drug may do in the future, but I strongly believe that our government wouldn't pay (NHS) for millions to have the vaccine if they thought it would too much damage, that is my OPINION!

Make whatever choice is right for you and your families! :)

My opinion is that EVERY vaccine was a NEW vaccine at some point, there are times when there isn't time to test, if every body chose not to be vaccinated there would still be pendemics of AIDS, polio, etc.

I really am not trying to influence peoples decisions, that is totally down to you!!

@Penny, People really aren't told enough about these jabs and it's really bad. That is kind of my point; if nobody did anything about swine flu and just let people die, everyone would be complaining. I would try and get hold of your health professional to explain the problem and hopefully they will explain a few things and maybe fit you in to have the vaccination, if you choose to do so. :)

Personally I dont think there has been enough testing especially for the younger ones. I have also read numerous articles on the amount of reactions people are already having to the jabs. I have decided not to get the jab and certainly woundlt get it for my duaghter.

i live in germany because my husband is in the forces. my docs from england phoned me to ask if i wanted to give my lil 1 the jab and ofcourse i informed them of my move. it got me wondering why my docs here hadnt been intouch if they were offering them in england. a couple of weeks late i noticed a poster on the wall of my local shop saying any children between 6mnths n 5 are able to have the flu jab on the 12th feb. it was now the 25th and the poster was dated the 9th of feb. i was very disgusted in there pathetic attempt at communication on a very serious subject

Like I said, I made my desicion not only on the government but after a LOT of research, I decided it was best for MY children. I am not trying to make people have the jab, I am just telling people my experience beacause I know how hard it was and I needed all the information I could get. Thanks for the response! :)

just a FYI our goverments also paid for agent orange which we are now paying the vets who got lung cancer. I don't trust ANYTHING just because our goverments paid millions for them.
