I have a 10 month old granddaughter that I keep all day(7:30 to 5:30). I need to be able to lay her down to sleep. This adorable baby only wants me to hold her and wakes up any time I put her down. Her mom also holds her at night. My back needs to find a way to peacefully and lovingly lay her down for a bit.

Does she like the stroller? You could try walking her to sleep around your neighborhood. The gentle movement of going over bumps and background noise can be soothing to some babies. I assume she doesn't fall asleep in the car? That is another popular method, but then you've got to somehow ensure that it is a safe place for her to sleep - if you have an attached garage it is not a problem.

My mom has had to do it with my oldest and it may take the classical music to get her to sleep.

Thank you Nicole for your suggestion. I have tried laying down with her and had a noise machine on( rain sounds). She continued crying until I stood up with her and put her on my shoulder. She is my 7th grandchild , I just can't figure it out. She is the only one I haven't been able to soothe. I hate the letting them cry routine . I 'be always been able to find something else. Sigh.

Lay her in bed and lay next to her. Let her listen to your heartbeat and play some soft music to help relax her and will help put her to sleep as well. If you have any classical music try playing that and see if it helps.
