Getting pregnant after Mirena

If you've had Mirena, how long did you have it and how long after it was removed did it take you to get pregnant? Also, were you actively trying or did it just happen? I'm trying to plan for a second baby at some point and would like to know what others experienced.

I've heard so many horror stories about Mirenas and I've had mine in for two years now and I'm seriously thinking about getting it taken out. Every person I know that's had one received assist's on their ovaries along with other serious medical problems! Definitley making a DOC appt tomorrow!!

Hi. I had it in for 4 yrs, we had to remove it because it had caused a fluid pocket in one of my fallopian tubes. Once we took it out we gave it a few months before we tried again. Then we actively tried for three months before getting pregnant.
But, I think it is different for everyone. We got told that literally the day we took it out, we could potentially get pregnant. We just took it easy. :)

I was on Mirena, and had serious problems with it. My regular Dr. insisted it be taken out because of all the problems. But anyway, I had it removed, and 6 months later I got pregnant. We were not actively trying, it just happened. We also were not being careful about anything, so it just took around 6 months for me to recover from that horrible IUD.
