I want to take my daughters pacifier away as latley shes become more dependant on it, it used to be just in bed but i think its better to take it away now than when shes 2 or 3 like my son. What do you think?

I think you should let her have it at nap/bed time. Let her get used to that for awhile, and see how she does. Then you can slowly take it away at nap time, then at bed time. A good way to get her to not use it at nap time is to let her run around and use up all her energy, so when she does sit down she immediately falls asleep. She is going to cry because it's not something she wants to do. Just be consistant and firm, not harsh just firm. It may take til she is over 1 yr to have it all the way gone, but at least she isn't 2 or 3 and ur just starting.

So you think i should just take it cold turkey and let her cry it out at bed time and nap time. Its so hard..

Yes, it's better to take it away now! We just took my son's paci away about a month ago and he's 2. It was hard!!!!!!! My hubby and I went outside because I can't stand to hear him cry! :-( I agree, the earlier the better :-) Good luck and just remember, don't give in!

I personally think the sooner the better. I hate to see kids walking around with them! Just at bed time is a great idea. My daughter just uses it in her crib. Good luck!
