for me, it doesn't really matter coz after feeding my baby with milk she immediately goes back to sleep and never wants to suck water anymore.

How old is she? I would direct this at your daughter's doctor as this can be really age dependant. It could interfere with a real feeding in a child younger than 1 year.

I didn't except when my boys had colds and give them some now if they are thirsty when ill. But, since we are potty training our younger son now, I don't. With our older son we cut him off at 7pm so get the nightime potty trips under control. Now that it is, if he needs a small drink okay, but we don't let them have beverages in their room.

The only time that I give my son water is if he wakes up 2 hrs after his bedtime bottle. Because I know he isn't hungry but is thirsty.
