My 11 month old son has been sooooo whiny lately. (Almost 1 year old.) He clings to my legs whining and crying when I'm trying to make dinner, brush my teeth, you get the idea. I can't hold him 24/7. I do wear him around the house often just so that I don't have to listen to the constant whining. Can't wear him all the time, and he pulls my hair and chews my shirt while I wear him- so that's fun. It's not like I ignore him. I give him plenty of one-on-one play time, but sometimes I need to get a few things done around the house. You know what I mean?

His napping has always been awful, but he will take at least one nap a day and sleeps about 11 hours at night. I know sometimes the whining can be due to being tired, but that is not the cause of his whining all day. Could it be molars coming in? How can I even tell? Anyone else experience something similar? I'm going crazy!

I don't know, my daughter is five and she has always been very independent, but i do remember a time she was clingy and I couldn't shake her off my leg. I don't remember how or when it stopped, but I do remember pushing her away and saying things like "you're ok" or "mommy just has to do a few things" and eventually it stopped. Just try to let him know that "he's ok" and you'll give him attention once your done, turn around and walk the other way or keep placing him by his toys and tell him he's ok and you'll be done in a few minutes... after realizing that you ARE NOT going to pick him up everytime he whines he may get the picture and entertain himself.

My guess is he is teething or maybe has gas? My three month old will cry and cry if she has gas. Try giving him some gas medicine or putting him in front of the TV in his swing. That always works for my 3 month old! Best of luck :)
