To be honset I tried to keep the others away but 2 of mine got it the same day the thrid one has yet to get it. I am not keeping her away as much cause I found out that if they get it the antibodies they build up will last for 20 years.(or somthing crazy like that). I have been luck that the daycare kids I take care of did not seem to get it yet. I was very clear about keeping their hands clean at all times. Even before we got it in our house.

Quoting Monica:

Have you hear about elderberry? make your research and do whatever you feel like doing with it. I am not telling you to use it, but I heard from a friend she took this while sick with the flu and got healthy at next day. believe it or not, I would try since is natural product.
The famous one is the sambucol elderberry. If it helps Im glad i was able to help, if not sorry to hear didnt work, i was trying to help. :) ;) good luck.

I have tried this as well, but with general sinus/allergy issues.  Seems to help.  I like to put Echinacea powder in my hot tea and gargle with the white Lavoris - a minty peroxide rinse.  These measures, sometimes coupled with throat lozenges and/or one or two OTC sinus/allergy aids, do seem to shorten the time of the illness and also lessen the symptoms.  Probiotics, or just yogurt, can also strengthen the immune system.

we have not had H1N1, u have it in your house now? I dont really have that problem tho, when my kids are sick they just lay around, the hardest part for me is keeping siblings away from each other, and not touching each other. How have you dealt w. H1N1? I know all of us moms are worried about it this season...
