My daughter had a large tumor removed from her abdomen at 12 weeks. She was in the childrens hospital for a week. PICU for 4 long nights. The baby in the room beside us had open heart surgery the same day. Is your baby scheduled for open heart surgery or already had it done? If you need to talk let me know. Its a very hard thing to go through for a young baby. Just always have faith and stay by your babies side as much as humanly possible. Love and Blessings

Colleen, you are so right and it does work, I do have faith. God will take care of her. Meditation on her recovery, the lords words and promises are what get me through. Thank you for thinking of her and please do pray for her. And thank you so much for sharing your wise words.

Marla, I have not, but I just wanted to let you know you and your daughter will be in my prayers. I know that sounds lame in light of what you are facing, and I cannot even imagine your fear. But you need to envision a positive outcome, a successful surgery, and the image of holding your perfectly healed little baby in your arms afterwards. Easier said than done, I know. But bring positive vibes into your universe through thought, meditation and visualization if you can. It can't hurt and may help bring peace and calmness to you during the process. Peace be with you!

I felt the exact same way. All i could do was cry at first. But i realized that you have to be brave for your daughter. babies can sence worry. Put your trust in the surgeons hands. I hope you will have lots of family and support with you. You are going to be in my prayers day and night. I know you will be busy over the next several weeks but keep me posted. Have you heard of the site caringbridge.org It is a great site. you can check out my daughters page to see how it works you just type in sophiaannmayfield.

You will be amazed at what great care the nurses and doctors give for your daughter. Have they told you how long the stay will be. I wish i knew more to say to make you feel better. This truley is the hardest thing i have gone through but it made my relationship with my daughter, husband and God so much stronger. You have a beautiful family. There is not really a good side to a situation like this but, any doctor will tell you that babies pull through this sorta thing better than adults. Because they dont understand pain quite yet. You'll be amazed at how strong your little one is. It will be hard not being able to hold and comfort your baby for the 1st few days but the nurses will make sure she is comfortable as can be(a good tip: make friends withall the nurses, they'll treat your child as their own). While in recovery there may be some scary situations like heart rate dropping or raising, trust that everything will be fine and i believe that it will. Before you know it you will be back home playing with your baby girl and being so blessed that everything went okay. Let me know if u need anything else. If you do the caring bridges page let me know i would like to contribute to the page!!!
