My daughter is 14 months old and very petite for her age(under the 5th percentile). She is small but looks very healthy, strong, and is VERY VERY smart! Her pediatrician had some blood tests done to make sure all was well and everything came back perfect except for low immunoglobulin levels. She has only been sick once since birth so i dont understand how something could be wrong with her immune system. She was referred to an Immunologist but we have yet to visit him. Can someone help me better understand what this might be before we see the doctor? I am very worried and dont want my poor baby to have to keep getting blood drawn. Thank you in advance!

No problem! Oh I do know how it is being a Mom, I hate taking her to the doctors, I can't imagine her getting her blood drawn. You may not be able to find the term online but it's called emla and if they say they can't give it to her, you just have to be firm with them..meaning at the hospital. I'm not sure why but some hospitals don't really want to listen to you. But I will see what I can find out about this. Have a good week!

Hi, humm I have not heard of that but I want to tell you about a numbing cream that you can request when she is getting her blood drawn. They put it on the area a half an hr before hand and it is called emla. This will help make her more comfortable! Otherwise I would look up some things online if possible. Good luck!
