The other night my 5-year-old daughter walked in on my husband and I "sleeping" LOL. She has done it once before, but she was really little. Now she is older, and asked what we were doing. What should i say, and is she harmed for life?!

I promise she's not at all harmed. When I was younger and walked in on my parents they don't me they were having "private time". When I asked what it was they simply said that it was something grown ups do and that I would learn more about it when I was older. Then they told me that anywhere I go it's polite to knock on a door before opening it.

My daughter has walked in on us before. She just snuck up so quietly in the middle of the night and opened the door on us. We usually lock it but forgot to that night. She said to us "are you guys being married?" LOL I have no idea where she heard that as I haven't talked about any of that w/ mine. Anyway, we told her we were wrestling and made it look like I was laying beside him instead of on top. Luckily we had blankets on. she is jealouse too and won't let us alone lol. if she leaves the room, she's back every 2 min. At night she started coming back to my bed (real sneaky) and sleeping with me. My husband has a hard time carrying her back to bed without waking her up so we have to always make sure our door is locked. lol. or she will do surveilance on us.

My youngest walked in on us AFTER we were done (luckily). We were just laying on the bed beside each other naked, still snuggling, so there was no action going on. Normally we lock the door, but for whatever reason that night it wasn't locked. He was supposed to be in bed, but obviously wasn't. My husband yelled at him to knock on the door next time, he acted like he was about to cry from being scolded, but then yelled, "Mom and dad are SO naked. Why do they have to do that?"

It has been a very funny moment to look back on and I'm very lucky we didn't actually get caught in the act.

LOCK THE DOOR and if there are no locks, get a locking door knob. I would not tell her what you were doing, not to be a prude, BTW. But the scariest memory for me was walking in on my parents' "sleeping" and it is like a train wreck in my mind, I was about 4 at the time. I love my parents to death but I don't want to visualize or see it EVER AGAIN, and I can't get that picture outta my head.

Tell her you were exercising or something. Like push ups in the bed, LOL.

LOL! thats funny, and im sorry you saw that haha. She asked us why we were jumping, and i told her it was a game, but i didnt know if that was good enough lol. She seems jealous now, and makes sure our door is open when we go to bed, since that night. And tonight she told us "no jumping!" I scalded her for talking to us like that, but i have no idea how to deal with this.

I've been caught once - by my three year old. He came into the room and yelled, "Mommy I poop my pants!" Let's just say that really ruined the mood! He was so young he didn't think anything of the fact that I had to crawl out of bed naked. Luckily my 8 and 6 year old haven't caught us.

With your 5 year old you could either tell her the truth or say you were "wrestling." I don't think she will be harmed for life! I caught my parents in the living room chair together when I was 16. I had come home early from babysitting and they had the radio on really loud (should've been my first warning). I walked up the steps and saw them on the chair. I screamed and ran back down the steps. My dad actually fell and gashed his head open on the coffee table! That little scene did scar me for life. LOL!
