Have you tried using a nursing pillow when you lay him down. I know it says not to let them sleep in it but when my baby girl had a problem sleeping without me that worked for her. We even used it when she was sick and had a hard time breathing when she was laying flat on her back.

my son was like this. i invested in a sling and it was the best investment i ever made. that stage didnt last long, as he got older i could lay him down once was asleep, but the sling definately helped.

babies see you as safety and comfort and need you right there all the time. i know that makes it hard to get things done, that is when a sling is handy.

my son is nearly 8mo and only just getting into a routine now, so dont stress about that. he will get into one when he is ready.

Yeah, I swaddle him every time we put him down, but I'm not sure I am swaddling the right way, I am going to try doing it differently and seeing if that works. I know they like to feel real snug.
