My 17 month old is only cruising from furniture to other furniture and still crawling everywhere else! He will walk crooked when I hold one of his hands but only for about 20 steps. Has anyonbe ever heard of a baby not walking at 17 months old???

My son didn't walk till 16 months (wouldn't even cruise or walk with us holding his hands at all, he just cried when we would try and make him) he just crawled everywhere. My husband and I had to leave him with grandma for two weeks because our youngest was in the NICU in another city and within two days of us leaving he was walking all over the house. I had taken him to the dr twice to see if his not walking was a problem and they said they wouldn't look into it unless he still wasn't walking at 18 months and even then they wouldn't be concerned. He told me that some babies are close to two before they begin walking. Best of Luck to you!

My daughter was the same way...every kid is different. She refused to walk and then one day she was like ok I'll walk and all the sudden walked all the way across the room and that was it. She walked everywhere after that. It was like she just wanted to walk on her terms.....good luck!

My son was the same way, he did not start walking until he was 18 months old. But once he started there was no stopping him. Like the doctor told me every child learns differently and when they are ready they will walk. lol. But I would take him to the doc just to calm your fears. Good luck.

If he is walking crooked take him to the doctor. I would also see if his feet are flat when he stands, as my son had a tight heel cord and could not put his one foot flat at all, I few months of physical therapy and he could move it and by 21 months he was walking. I would also make sure his legs are the same length. Hope nothing is wrong thou and he starts to walk soon, I know its hard to see other kids his age and younger walking around.

Trust your gut. If you are worried take him to the doctor and have a physical therapist evaluate him. He is too cute by the way. Good Luck!!!
